PARTIBUS CHESS SET

Chaturanga, which originated in India in the 6th century, was the earliest precursor of modern chess. It saw four armies take part in the game, poised at each corner of the board. Adopting a Latin translation for the four divisions, Partibus is Bert Frank’s nod to one of the oldest versions of chess.

With a carefully thought-out combination of textures and finishes, the classic sets pay homage to one of the oldest games in existence with an exquisite chequered square board crafted from Statuary and Portoro marble.

MAD QUEEN CHESS SET

In 1500AD, Europe made the Bishop and Queen more powerful with new moves. This form of chess named “Queen’s Chess” or “Mad Queen Chess” signalled a new era of the modern game.

With a carefully thought-out combination of textures and finishes, the premium sets are crafted from sleek expanses of marble and individual hand-crafted solid brass pieces, evoking true luxury appeal for any connoisseur of craftsmanship.

AHMOSE DRAUGHTS SET

Ahmose was an ancient Egyptian queen in the Eighteenth Dynasty and mother to the queen and Pharaoh Hatasu (Hatshepsut). Whilst there is little written about her in the history books, she was reputed to be grander and more superior than her famed daughter.

With a carefully thought-out combination of textures and finishes, the premium sets are crafted from sleek expanses of marble with draughts counters that are perfectly balanced brushed brass and bronze stones.

HATASU DRAUGHTS SET

Queen Hatasu also known as Pharaoh Hatshepsut, was the fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt and the second historically confirmed female pharaoh. Ancient checkers pieces were discovered in her burial chambers and are now housed in the British Museum.

With a carefully thought-out combination of textures and finishes, the classic sets pay homage to one of the oldest games in existence with an exquisite chequered square board crafted from Statuary and Portoro marble.
